- General contractors. Subcontracting to an unregistered contractor is unlawful, and your subs' registrations expire on their own schedule — 9,307 of the active ones lapse in the earliest year on file alone.
- Property managers and developers. Every job, three checks, three files.
- Insurers and surety brokers. The bond and policy tables are the market you underwrite.
- Anyone reconciling businesses to people. 19,695 registrations share a principal with another business.
What we can do on your list
- Resolve a list. Send licence numbers, UBIs or business names; get back a CSV with status, specialty, city, bond amount and surety, insurance amount and insurer, expiry dates, and the principals.
- Flag the gaps. Active with no bond, active with no policy, a bond that expires before your job ends, a suspension in the past.
- Watch a list. L&I refreshes daily and reports no change log. We keep every collection and tell you what moved — a suspension, a lapsed policy, a registration that stopped renewing.
- Query it. A JSON endpoint by licence number or UBI.
