## About this site

A search layer over public state data. Not L&I, not legal advice, and not a recommendation of anyone.

### The source

Everything here comes from the Washington State Department of Labor &
Industries' contractor data on
 data.wa.gov — five tables:
registrations, bonds, insurance, principals and authorized signers — released
under the
 Open Data Commons Public
Domain Dedication and License and collected on
**2026-08-20**.

161,230 registrations, belonging to 149,441 businesses. L&I refreshes
the tables daily; this site is a snapshot.

### ⚠️ Three things this site will not say

- **Why a registration was suspended.** L&I gives the date,
never the reason. 9,749 are suspended today and 52,655
have been in the past; that is all we know and all we print.
- **That a contractor is uninsured.** We say that no current
policy appears in L&I's file — 5,388 active registrations are in
that case. It is a reason to ask, not a conclusion.
- **That someone is hiding behind a new company.** We show that
19,695 registrations share a principal with another business, because
L&I's own data says so. Running two companies is ordinary. We draw no
conclusion and neither should a page.

### What this site is not

- **Not L&I**, and not affiliated with it or with
Washington State.
- **Not the official verify tool.** For anything that matters,
use L&I's own, which is live.
- **Not legal advice**, and not a rating or endorsement of any
contractor.
